The Challenge

In August 2015, we were asked to survey a property in London. The client had identified cracking on the recently built extension, corresponding to further cracking internally. The property had been previously repaired by a third party but there were difficulties as the mortar joints did not line up from where the extension was built.

To further complicate the issue, the property had a cellar, which meant that the extension was likely built on made-ground and was rotating away from the original property. In addition, a drain running along the length of the extension meant that groundworks were potentially difficult

The Solution

Our technical team recommended to install the Heli Pile in 12 positions around the extension, to stablise its foundation. In addition, a Bar Flex beam was recommended to provide further stabilisation.

Installation

We attended site in November 2015, carrying out the installation as per the scheme. The work was completed within 5 days on site.
