The Heli Pile system is the perfect solution for creating new foundations for properties, extensions, and even temporary installations, providing a versatile and sustainable alternative to traditional methods.
In locations with challenging ground conditions like clay, our Heli Pile system provides a superior no-dig foundation for any new build or extension. Unlike traditional methods, our sustainable concrete alternatives are installed directly into the ground, achieving the necessary depth for building control approval while providing a strong, eco-friendly foundation with minimal site disruption and without the need for uneconomic or damaging excavation.
Heli Pile is ideal for such situations as it transfers minimal vibration into the soil, does not damage tree roots or affect underground services. Furthermore, because of its handheld installation equipment, piled foundations at the rear of terraced properties or similarly restricted-access areas becomes a possibility.
Heli Pile installation requires minimal excavation and muck away and a 450 mm square reinforced concrete beam spans between the pile points.
Concrete-free foundations are often specified on temporary structures, where build time needs to be minimised (concrete takes 28 days to cure) or where tight access prohibits concrete delivery.
The green credentials of concrete-free foundations are plain to see; it is estimated that around 410 kg of CO2 is produced per cubic metre of concrete – the same as driving a Lamborghini from London to Venice!
Forming a connection from a Heli Pile foundation to a superstructure is made simple through the use of a M12 or M20 stud or bolt into the top of each Heli Pile. Height and level adjustment are easily accommodated, using a bespoke connection detail for each project.
