Strengthen and stabilise weakened lintels quickly and effectively with minimal disruption
A lintel is the beam above a window, door, or other opening, supporting the weight of the wall above. In older constructions, timber window frames sometimes acted as structural lintels. When these frames are replaced without installing a proper lintel, serious cracking or movement can occur.
Age and material fatigue
Over time, stone, timber, or even concrete lintels can weaken or degrade.
Modern window replacements
Removing old frames that supported part of the structure without replacing them with a lintel.
Poor original construction
Inadequate materials or techniques used when the building was originally constructed.
Solid lintel repair starts with good advice. During our first visit, we assess the damage and provide a non-binding repair plan with a clear explanation and quote.
Target Fixings uses over 20 years of expertise to offer clean, efficient solutions.
Instead of dismantling brickwork, we install Bar Flex stainless steel rods into grooved mortar joints above the opening. This method reinforces the structure while keeping the wall’s original look intact, ensuring minimal disruption and lasting results.
We used HeliPile foundation piles to stabilize a sinking extension, reinforcing the walls to prevent further damage. Pile tests can often determine if they have sufficient load-bearing capacity.
