1. Cut 10 mm wide slots for the Bar Flex crack stitches in the bed joints on the underside of the arch.
2. Where required, drill clearance holes to the required depth at the ends of the slot
3. Vacuum out holes and thoroughly flush with water.
4. Blow out the hole and thoroughly flush with water.
5. Fix the Cem Flex nozzle to the Bond Flex gun kit
6. Mix Bond Flex and load into Bond Flex gun kit
7. Pump Bond Flex to the outlet of the nozzle. Insert the nozzle to the full depth of the drilled hole and pump Bond Flex to fill the hole. Keep light pressure on the gun to ensure that all voids are filled with Bond Flex.
8. Remove the Cem Flex nozzle
9. Using the Bond Flex gun kit insert a bead of Bond Flex into the back of the slot
10. Bend Bar Flex to the correct shape and insert the end of the Bar Flex into the full depth of the hole.
11. Push the remainder of the Bar Flex into the bead of Bond Flex to obtain good coverage
12. Insert a bead of Bond Flex cementitious Bond Flex over the exposed Bar Flex and iron into the slot using the finger trowel
13. Point up or fill the joint and leave ready for any decoration
A. Clearance hole to be 13-16 mm diameter depending on the material to be used
B. Nominal spacing between crack stitches to be 450 mm
C. Depth of the slot to be 45 mm
D. Crack stitches to extend a minimum of 500 mm either side of the crack. If this is not possible then the ends of each stitch is to be bent and grouted up into the brickwork
