1. Rake out or cut slots into horizontal mortar joints
2. Use power/hand chisel to continue slots up to internal corner
3. Vacuum out the slots and thoroughly flush with water
4. Where the slot ends at internal corner, drill hole into adjoining wall diagonally as shown
5. Vacuum out the hole to remove all dust and debris
6. Bend the end of the Bar Flex to fit into the angle created by the hole
7. Fill the hole with resin and insert the bent end of the Bar Flex fully into the resin, laying the
remainder of the Bar Flex in the slot
8. Allow resin to gel (15 to 20 minutes)
9. Gently ease the Bar Flex out of the slot and, using the Bond Flex gun kit, insert a 10 mm depth bead
of Bond Flex into back of the slot
10. Using the finger trowel, push the Bar Flex into the bead of Bond Flex, ensuring good even coverage
11. Insert a further bead of Bond Flex over the exposed Bar Flex and iron into the slot using the
finger trowel.
12. Re-point or fill the rest of the slot and leave for any decoration
A. Depth of slot is between 25 and 35 mm into the masonry (do not include plaster)
B. Bar Flex is 6 mm diameter
C. Vertical spacing of the Bar Flex is 450 mm
D. Bar Flex to extend at least 500 mm beyond any cracks
