1. Rake out or cut slots for the Bar Flex into the underside of the arch
2. Install Cem Flex as in CF·13, using an oversized piece of Cem Flex that leaves 100 mm protruding from the hole
3. After 24 hours vacuum out the slots for the Bar Flex reinforcing and thoroughly flush with water
4. Insert a 10 mm depth bead of Bond Flex into the back of the slot.
5. Push the first piece of Bar Flex into the bead of Bond Flex to obtain good even coverage.
6. Repeat steps 4-5 for the second, third and fourth pieces of Bar Flex
7. Bend the ends of the Cem Flex ties to follow the slot for reinforcing and insert a bead of Bond Flex
over the last Bar Flex and the ends of the Cem Flex and iron into the slot using a finger trowel.
A. Depth of slot to be 65 to 75 mm
B. Number of Bar Flex per slot to be 4.
C. Nominal spacing between reinforced slots to be 450 mm.
D. Nominal spacing between Cem Flex ties along the slot to be 450 mm.
E. Where the Bar Flex has to be joined in long runs a minimum of 500 mm overlap should be allowed and all joints should be staggered.
