Wall Tie Failure

What Can Happen?

In the most extreme cases of untreated wall tie failure, the outer leaf will partly or fully collapse, endangering life and property. As the outer leaf is generally only a façade, if it falls away from the rest of the structure, the structure will be mostly unaffected.

More commonly, failed wall ties can lead to the outer leaf expanding vertically, causing a misalignment with the rest of the structure.
